Account Deletion Request

We value your privacy. If you no longer wish to use SettleBro, you can easily request the complete deletion of your account and associated personal data.

1. How to Request Account Deletion

To request deletion of your SettleBro account, please send an email to our support team.

Compose an Email

Send an email to support@settlebro.com from the email address registered with your SettleBro account.

Include Your Account Details

Please mention your registered name, mobile number, and a brief statement requesting account and data deletion.

Processing Period

Our support team will process your request within 7 business days. You will receive a confirmation email once the deletion is complete.

2. Data We Delete

Upon completing your deletion request, the following information is permanently purged from our active databases:

  • Your personal profile details (Name, Email Address, Phone Number, Avatar).
  • Your account authorization and credentials.
  • Any personal expense log entries that you created outside of shared groups.
  • Your subscription records and settings preferences.

3. Shared Data & Anonymization

To prevent mathematical imbalances or errors in shared group ledgers (e.g. rent or grocery splits with flatmates/roommates), we handle group data as follows:

  • Anonymization: Any expenses or settlements you logged within shared groups are anonymized. Your profile identifier will be removed, and your name on those transactions will be replaced with "Deleted User".
  • Ledger Continuity: The transaction amounts and group balances remain intact so that other members of the group do not lose their historical splitting records or balances owed/due.

4. Backup Systems & Logs

Residual data may remain in our secure backup archives for up to 90 days. This is purely for disaster recovery and system integrity. These backups are encrypted and inaccessible for normal business operations.
